Sources of Faith
Here is one review and another review of this
CD Rom
(which I have at the course today if you wish to try it).
Aspects of Religion
This is, in my opinion, better than 'Sources of Faith'. A full review can be found
here.
Jerusalem
An Interactive Pilgrimage to the Holy City
This is a very good resource (which I have with me so you may try it out). There are sections on 'A journey through the Ages', 'Eyewitness to Jesus', A 'Quest', and 'Jerusalem A to Z'.
It's available from Simon & Schuster Interactive.
The Museum of the Cross
I found this on the web, so I haven't used it - visit the site and see what you think.
It's an Interactive Art and History CD Rom from Silver Sun. You can also look at the museum's on-line
website.
This site from Sarasota, Florida, might be useful for Art & Religion topics.
The site also has a Live Classroom section - haven't tried it yet - why don't you have a go now!
Jerusalem
Here's another Jerusalem CD Rom from a German company, which looks rather good.
Their publicity claims it will take you on "a journey of 5,000 years, from ancient history to the establishment of Jerusalem as the Israelite capital around 1000 BC, and on to the present day. We look at the faiths for which Jerusalem is important. We explore the city today."
Available in English as well as German, I expect it will be available over here soon.
Sophie’s World
This is a great CD Rom based on Jostein Gaarder’s famous book, Sophie's World probably best
for older KS3+ students.
You interact with Sophie and see video clips of various philsophers (acted) from
history and work out various puzzles interactively as you go.
There is also a large information database about philosophy, philosophers and their historical settings - these
can be printed out, but like many CD Roms, you can’t extract text or pictures.
It helps if you have read the book (which I wholeheartedly recommend) but you can still run
and enjoy the program if you haven't.
Here’s a screen capture of the philosophy map section:
